For this project we created a sensory detailed poem based on our childhood.
My poem consisted of my earliest memories and my happiest moments growing up.
My poem consisted of my earliest memories and my happiest moments growing up.
"I am from the smell of chlorine, from sunburnt shoulders, and crazy looking tan lines. I am from jungle jims and splinters. From dirty hands and strawberry scraped knees. I am from smokey bonfires. From kiawe thorns and itchy mosquito bites. I am from sandy hair. From broken boogie boards and big waves."

21st Century Skills
Communication skills - In the poem I non-verbally communicated effectively about my childhood. Explaining how I grew up, what it was like, and what I remember.
Thinking and Problem solving skills - In the poem, I needed to use my thinking and problem solving skills to successfully incorporate sensory details into each line.

Reflection
This sensory poem was a lot of fun to create. The finished product definitely exceeded my expectations, therefore I am most proud of the end result. I felt that I did a great job including sensory details. I also really like how my drawing was simple yet, really painted a picture of my earliest memories. With this assignment, I practiced communicating effectively and problem solving, making it easier for me to use them in the future. Trying to remember everything about my childhood was a big challenge for me, being the most difficult part of this assignment. To improve on this assignment, I would add more to my drawing to try to tell a more detailed story. I've done assignments like this in the past and I felt that it really helped me to have a better understanding of what I am expected of by my teacher. In the future, I can look back on this assignment, using it as a reference of what my full potential looks like.
